GR Crew

I moved to Raglan from Timaru in 2017 and straight away made enquires about joining Coastguard. I’ve always loved boats and any other water activities and with my mahi in Civil Defence Emergency Management it’s a natural fit (saving lives and protecting property...). I leave the jet skis to the other guys & gals (though they are fun) and am working towards becoming an operational crew member on Gallagher Rescue. I’m constantly blown away by the dedication shown by members of the unit from doing vessel maintenance to organising training. I have taken on the purchasing the equipment and consumables for the unit and thankfully we have a very understanding rural delivery man. I’m married to Pip and have 2 adult children and my moko who lives in Timaru (too far away). I enjoy making things in my shed (there’s usually a few things on the go) and living in this part of the world.
