President

My initial engagement with Coastguard was many years ago when my mechanic a Raglan unit member invited me to join Coastguard as a volunteer.

The Raglan Unit at that stage was in need of people for dry crew / admin rolls and due to my professional background I thought it could be a good interest.

That is now history. I joined and progressively moved into the president’s role and then to operational crew. I initially focused on administration at Tasman OPSCOM level, then onto the Coastguard Northern Region Board (vice-President) and latterly serving on the Coastguard New Zealand Board,

I am continually impressed and motivated by the respect in which Communities, Boaties and the Public afford to Coastguard. I am here for the long term, however I do have other interests such as skiing, hunting, fishing and family.

It is an honour to be associated with such a diverse group of totally committed Volunteers in Raglan who lead by example with a healthy culture and great ethic. It is these strengths that make the Raglan Coastguard Unit a highly successful search and rescue entity
